first hair cut

November 12, 2010

It’s true…I’ve waited over 3 years to cut Emily’s hair.  It’s not my fault really…it’s my fear’s fault.  you see, when Ava was about 2 1/2, we got her hair trimmed and all of those big beautiful curls just went away.  Seriously, she went from this:

to this:

Waaaaaaah.

Add to that Emily’s stranger anxiety and Mama’s excuse after excuse after excuse and well, Em’s adorable mop has turned from this:

to this:

So it was to the big girl beauty salon we went, where a hair stylist dressed as a fairy cut about 6 inches of luscious curls off of my baby’s head.  Waaaaaaaaaaah.

She got a big girl shampoo:

And style:

We weren’t really sure how we felt about those bows…they’re a little silly.  But apparently they are standard on a first hair cut at this particular salon.  Once I mentioned the glitter that had been sprinkled in her hair, she was much more into it.
